Cambodian Prime Minister, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet on November 25, met with Mr. Gilles Carbonnier, Vice President of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Mr. Gilles Carbonnier stated that Cambodia has achieved success in mine clearance and this experience is Cambodia’s value to the world.
The Vice President of the International Committee of the Red Cross expressed his appreciation to the Royal Government of Cambodia for hosting the Siem Reap-Angkor Summit on a Mine-Free World.
He highlighted the good cooperation between the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Royal Government of Cambodia in so far, especially in the health and social sectors.
He also expressed his commitment to continue strengthening and expanding cooperation with the Royal Government and to continue supporting Cambodia’s efforts in mine clearance and unexploded ordnance disposal, which demonstrates the joint efforts for a mine-free world.
For his part, the Cambodian Prime Minister thanked the Vice President of the ICRC and the delegation for attending the Siem Reap-Angkor Summit on a Mine-Free World.
He also thanked the International Committee of the Red Cross for its support and contribution to the socio-economic reconstruction and restoration of Cambodia for sustainable development.
