Deputy Prime Minister Neth Savoeun: The drug problem has become a fierce enemy of all countries

Deputy Prime Minister Neth Savoeun, Chairman of the National Anti-Drug Authority, said that the drug problem has become a hot topic not only for Cambodia, but it has become a fierce enemy of all countries in the world.

The remarks were made when Deputy Prime Minister Neth Savoeun

presided over the opening of the annual meeting of the National Anti-Drug Authority at the Ministry of Interior on March 12, 2025.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that in order to respond to this complex problem, the Royal Government of Cambodia always stands on a strong and clear principle in placing the fight against drugs as the top priority and putting forward all kinds of policies, strategies and methods to respond promptly to all problems and protect and maintain Cambodian society as a clean society where drugs are no longer an obstacle to national development.

According to General Meas Virith, Secretary-General of the National Anti-Drug Authority, Cambodia continues to be threatened by global drug trends, especially from the Golden Triangle region, the results of the suppression operations show that drug crimes have not decreased compared to 2023.
