The Acting Head of State and President of the Senate extoled the good ties of friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and the Russian Federation.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State and President of the Senate, expressed the appreciation when he received a courtesy call by H.E Anatoly Borovik, Russian Ambassador to Cambodia, on Thursday March 13.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed satisfaction with the good relations between the two countries, which have contributed to the development of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen spoke of the good relations between Cambodia and Russia, and he thanked Russia for the provision of scholarships to Cambodian students to help train Cambodian human resources.

The Ambassador stressed that on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2026, Russia would be ready to work with the Cambodian side to further enhance the relationship.

He highlighted the relations between the Cambodian People's Party and the ruling party of Russia, in further strengthening party-to-party relations. The Ambassador also mentioned the economic sector, where trade between the two countries amounted to US$29 million.

The Russian ambassador also discussed the regional and global situation with Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
