At the seminar on “Review and Analysis of the Functions and Structure of the Ministry of Tourism” chaired by H.E Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service Cambodia, on March 12, 2025, H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, said that the ministry planned to adjust the current structure to fit the new functions of the Ministry of Tourism. He further said that the move was based on the approach of public administration reform, which was to strengthen rather than expand.

The Minister of Tourism added that in accordance with the instructions and circulars of the Royal Government, the Ministry of Tourism has collaborated with the General Secretariat of the National Committee for Promoting the Implementation of Key Measures in Public Administration Reform to support the process of reviewing, analyzing the functions, structures and data of civil servants of the Ministry of Tourism.

He stressed that the Ministry has worked on tourism management, tourism development, and tourism support services, and 18 support functions.

The Minister stated that the process ofreviewing the functional and structural analysis has found out that the roles and responsibilities of some committees that support the promotion of tourism development overlap within the Ministry of Tourism, and in other ministries.

The Minister added that based on the findings, the Ministry planed to adjust the current structure to suit the new functions of the Ministry of Tourism and adjust the roles and responsibilities of various committees that support the promotion of tourism development and civil servants in each unit on some functions for work efficiency.
