The new Finnish Ambassador to Cambodia, based in Bangkok, her excellency Kristina Kuvaja Santopoulos, expressed her commitment to strengthening and expanding cooperation with Cambodia.
The commitment was made when the Ambassador paid a courtesy call on Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
The Ambassador expressed great interest in Cambodia’s progress in all sectors and congratulated the Royal Government of Cambodia for its many achievements over the past two decades.
The Ambassador highly valued the good relations between Finland and Cambodia and expressed satisfaction with cooperation in many areas, such as mine clearance, agriculture, and land registration.
For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet highly appreciated the good relations between the two countries, which have now lasted for 55 years.
The Cambodian Prime Minister believed that the role of the Ambassador will further contribute to strengthening and expanding relations and cooperation between the two countries.
He also mentioned the introduction of necessary policies and measures by the Royal Government to improve the livelihood and well-being of the people by strengthening the health sector, education, vocational training and job creation, as well as promoting digital connectivity and sustainable development. The two sides discussed the potential for cooperation in the fields of digital, environment, trade, investment and business, especially the importance of innovation and the creation of an ecosystem for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises.
