Addressing the closing of the annual meeting of the Cambodian Oknha Association on March 14, 2025, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, highlighted the important role of the private sector as a direct attractor and partner with foreign investors.
The Cambodian Prime Minister thanked the Chamber of Commerce for cooperating with partners and joining the Cambodian Oknha Association to connect with the private sector.
The Cambodian Prime Minister further said that in the world, there is fierce competition in attracting foreign investors, so this work does not only refer to large or small countries to attract foreign investors, it is necessary to use the private sector to promote investment activities.
The Cambodian Prime Minister stressed that the private sector is an important partner because when foreign investment companies intend to invest in another country, they always look for local private sector partners to ensure credibility.
He added that in 2024, the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) approved 414 investment projects worth approximately US$6 billion, the highest number of investment projects in a single year ever. The Prime Minister believed that in 2025, the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) would approve more investment projects than in 2024. This is a result of the collaboration between the Royal Government and the private sector.
