Samdech Techo Hun Sen tells the President of the National Assembly of Vietnam about his two priority goals as the President of the Senate

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Acting Head of State, told the President of the National Assembly of Vietnam about his two priorities as President of the Senate for the fifth term.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen held a bilateral meeting via video conference last Friday with H.E. VuongDinh Hue, Member of the Political bureau and President of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. 

Samdech Techo Hun Sen said that the first goal was the promotion of parliamentary diplomacy to assist the National Assembly and the Royal Government to achieve harmony in the foreign affairs sector and the second goal was accountability to the electorate, who are members of the Commune and Sangkat Councils.

H.E. Vuong Dinh Hue, for his part, congratulated Samdech Techo Hun Sen on his election as the President of the Senate of Cambodia for the 5th term in the first session, on April 3, 2024, under the auspicious of His Majesty Samdech PreahBaromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The Vietnamese National Assembly President spoke of the achievements of Cambodia in bringing about continuous progress in socio-economic development, especially in improving the lives of the Cambodian people, as well as raising the prestige and role of Cambodia in regional and international forums.

The President of the National Assembly of Vietnam believed that new achievements would be made under the leadership of the Cambodian People's Party and the Royal Government of Cambodia led by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet. He also expressed Vietnam’s full support for the process of building and developing Cambodia and the joint commitment to maintaining the good relations between the governments, parliaments and peoples of the two countries.
