Local people in Kandal and other nearby provinces in the southern part of Cambodia have now been able to receive medical treatment and check-up in a new hospital in their locality.
The new hospital named "Techo Sen Koh Thom Hospital " located in Koh Thom district, Kandal province was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet, on Wednesday March 13, 2024.
The Techo Sen Koh Thom Hospital equipped with modern apparatus is capable of providing advanced medical services to local people.
The Techo Sen Koh Thom Hospital was originally named Koh Thom District Hospital. It started operating after the liberation on January 7, 1979, providing services such as consulting and general treatment of pediatrics, gynecology and tuberculosis. In 1997, the hospital changed its name from Koh Thom District Hospital to Koh Thom Referral Hospital.
The new hospital responds to the specific needs of the Royal Government's political program and the vision of national development initiated by Samdech Techo Hun Sen, former Prime Minister of Cambodia, who has always taken care of the health and well-being of the people.
The construction of this hospital started on January 7, 2022 and was completed on June 20, 2023, with a total construction period of 18 months and 13 days.
The hospital covers an area of more than 14,000 square meters, divided into three buildings, with a total construction cost of more than US$10 million.
