A Cambodian Pavilion was launched in Kansai region of Japan

His Excellency SAMHENG Bora, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce and Deputy Commissioner General for the Cambodia Section at World Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, presided over the launching ceremony of the Cambodia Pavilion on April 12 2025, in Kansai, Japan.

This ceremony was also attended by His Excellency Dr. KAO Kimhourn, Secretary General of ASEAN, His Excellency TUY Ri, Cambodian Ambassador to Japan.

The Expo2025 Osaka last six months from 13 April to 13 October 2025. Cambodia has chosen Koh Ker Temple as the centerpiece for Cambodia Pavilion’s construction. It has reflected Cambodia’s unwavering commitment to preserving the cultural heritage while showcasing the architectural and artistic excellence of the Khmer civilization.

The Cambodian Pavilion also housed the Kou Prey statue, Cambodia’s symbolic national animal, and the biodiversity which represents the nation’s abundant natural resources.

A depiction of an Angkor Wat bas-relief on the temple wall featuring the “Churning of the Ocean of Milk” was also shown together with a traditional Khmer bamboo houses exemplify Cambodia’s architectural heritage, and a maquette of Angkor Wat Temple.

The pavilion’s central landscape highlighted a panoramic view of lush rice fields, emphasizing the country’s agricultural potential and renowned rice products.

Cambodian potential products were also on display. They included cashew nut, fragrant rice, silver and copper sculpture, souvenirs, clothes, golden silk and artistic works.
