The Cambodian Prime Minister, Samdech ThipadeiHun Manet expressed deep gratitude to the Chinese government and people for their continued support for the development of all sectors in Cambodia, and emphasized that the assistance of Chinese friends has become an important driving force in promoting socio-economic development, infrastructure construction, and improving people's livelihood.

The expression was made when the Cambodian Prime Minister met with His Excellency Xi Jinping, President of China, on Thursday, April 17, 2024, at the peace palace.

The Cambodian Prime Minister stressed that His Excellency Xi Jinping's visit highlights the strength of the relationship and cooperation between the two countries, which are comprehensive strategic partners and iron-clad friendship.

For his part, H.E Xi Jinping thanked the Cambodian side for its warm welcome and expressed his pleasure to visit Cambodia again, the Chinese President highly appreciated Cambodia’s rapid progress and development, and praised Cambodia’s international reputation. He expressed his firm belief that under the wise leadership of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Cambodia will continue to maintain peace, stability, and develop in all fields. He also said that China will continue to strengthen and expand cooperation in all fields with Cambodia, and stressed its firm commitment to supporting Cambodia at all times to help Cambodia achieve its vision of becoming a high-income country by 2050. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation in priority areas including: politics, security, national defense, trade, investment, agriculture, tourism, people-to-people relations, and physical infrastructure construction.

His Excellency Xi Jinping pledged to encourage more Chinese investors and tourists to Cambodia.
