Samdech Techo Hun Sen Addresses a key note speech at the opening ceremony of the annual conference of the Forum for Asia

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, addressed a key note speech at the opening ceremony of the annual conference of the Forum for Asia, held in Boao city, Hainan Province, China, on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Supreme Privy Council to the King, extolled the role played by China in assisting other countries in economic development. Samdech Techo Hun Sen, who was former Prime Minister of Cambodia, was among the key speakers at the opening ceremony of the annual conference of the Forum for Asia, held in Boao city, Hainan Province, China, on March 28.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen spoke of the ongoing development in Cambodia, which has enjoyed full peace and political stability.

The opening ceremony was attended by the government leaders, businesses, academia, international organizations and regional organizations to discuss key issues and to promote international cooperation. The Boao Forum for Asia aims to promote and deepen economic exchanges, coordination and cooperation in Asia and between Asia and other regions around the world.

The Boa Forum for Asia was proposed in 1998 by former Philippine President Fidel V. Ramos, former Australian Prime Minister Bob Hawke and former Japanese Prime Minister Morihiro Hosokawa. 

The Boao Forum for Asia was officially launched on February 27, 2001 and has a permanent headquarters in Boao city, Hainan Province, China. Since 2002, the Boao Forum for Asia has held its annual conference in Boao. The annual conference of the Boao Forum is held from March 27 to 29, 2024 in Hainan Province, China, with about 2,000 guests from 60 countries and regions in attendance and 1,100 journalists from 40 countries and the regions were also present to cover the event.
