National Assembly President: Cambodia-Japan is a close relationship based on common values and mutual respect

Samdech Khuon Sodary, President of the National Assembly, said that Cambodia-Japan relations have been based on common values and mutual respect.

The President of the National Assembly made the point in a meeting with H.E Ueno Atsushi, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, on Wednesday April 24.

Both sides exchanged views on politics, women's participation in decision-making, education, information, trade, industry, investment and geopolitical issues, both regional and global.

The National Assembly President stressed that Cambodia and Japan have had close relations and cooperation for a long time, and the diplomatic bond has been maintained and promoted by the leaders of the two countries.

The two sides recalled Samdech Techo Hun Sen's visit to Japan earlier this year, when he met with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, former Japanese Foreign Minister Komura Masahiko in order to strengthen the relationship between Cambodia and Japan.

The National Assembly President said that Cambodia-Japan relations have been based on common values, mutual respect, trust and benefit. 

The Ambassador of Japan expressed his congratulations on the Cambodia's progress in all areas after the civil war and until the present day, when the country has achieved complete peace, political stability and development.
